Its been a busy morning already, I've been up for over an hour and I have my grocery list ready for shopping, dishwasher emptied, showed my spare room to a student I'm hoping to rent to, and kitchen tidied and ready for the floor to be washed (but after I make the cookies)

This Year-Girl Solid Paper Freebie (24 hours only)

It has been a busy day already.  Was up bright and early to change the sheets, make the bed, take the dog out and head into work this morning.  Sean is coming home for the rest of March Break and even thought I'm working all day and at my cleaning job tonight, I'm still anxious to see him.  I have tons of things to do while he is here, but hopefully we can do some of those things together...like make bread, cookies and muffins this weekend and I'm hoping we can get out for a winter picnic.

 

Alexandra came home with her Graduation Proof's on the weekend... oh my goodness!!! I can hardly wait till we get them without the word Proof written all over them to share with you. She is so beautiful and grown up. I can't believe she is only 17.... I think she looks like she should be graduating College or University but Yikes!!!! are they ever expensive to order!

This Year-Boy Solid Paper Freebie (24 hours only)

I'm going to get away from the monthly kits for the next two weeks and share with you first some solid papers, then some patterned papers.  On their own they do look a little boring however layered or clipped to shapes or mattes in templates they look amazing.

I was asked how I sort my kits.  Well, I've created a folder on my hard drive called This Year and then have in that folder a folder for each month, one named Alphabets and one named Paper Packs for the extra papers I will be handing out with this kit.  ie. Solids and patterned.  All the monthly items such as the January Papers and January Elements get put into the January Folder.  All the Alphabets, get unzipped into the Alphabet folder and the Extra Papers get unzipped into the Paper Packs Folder.  Make sense?  I hope so, I'm not always the best at explaining things.

 

Anyway, here are the This Year-Boy Solid Papers.  I hope you enjoy them.

I just realized as I was looking at my files that when I shared the January Alpha that I only included the download for the Glitter Alpha.  I didn't clue in that the second alpha pictured was not in the same zip file...so I have included the link below for it as well.  I'm very sorry that I didn't clue in, I guess that's why I didn't understand some of the comments looking forward to the white on white alpha being offered.

This Year-Neutral February Element Freebie (24 hours only)

Happy Friday everyone.  I''m looking forward to my weekend as I should have a quiet one with my daughter working all weekend and my son and his GF moving into their own apartment.  They were suppose to go to Thailand however they had everything go wrong that could go wrong from luggage stolen, and the person doing their bank transfer-a bank employee (as they opened up a joint account at a different bank for this trip) decided to transfer all $30,000.  into his pocket.  Thankfully the money is insured and they will get it back but it may take up to two months for that to happen.  Luckily they discovered their money was gone two days before they got there and cancelled their trip.  Plane tickets and condo deposit was refundable as they got insurance.   Lucky them for that small saving grace.  So home they came and both managed to find jobs within a couple days so off they go to their own place.  I've cleaned out my kitchen for them with extra kitchen ware, bake ware and yes even groceries.... Mom's!!!

 

So I hope you enjoy today's freebie... I love the cherub.  Like I mentioned before if there are any people in the kits, I'll have five skin and hair variations of that person and that includes the cherub.  I'd love to see what you are creating with my kits as I notice many people are taking advantage of the free downloads.

This Year-Neutral January Alpha Freebie (24 Hours Only)

Someone asked me about the white on white alpha... that the girl and boy alphas looked identical... almost, perhaps it is difficult to see the subtle difference in the colours however they are different shades.  I used 6 main colours in two shades to create each portion of these kits and yes the whites/beige's are very similar in each.

This Year-Boy January Elements Freebie (24 hours only)

I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend.  Mine as it turns out will be a quiet one again.  No kids except Alexandra, who seems to work all the time and be out with her friends or boyfriend and at 17, that's not much of a kid anymore.  I'm enjoying this quiet time, although with two jobs some nights are not as quiet as others, and when I do get home, I'm just ready to crash.  I hope to spend this weekend finishing up the elements for the March Kits and preparing for April's theme which I'm thinking will be "Babies" what do you think?  What suggestions do you have for kits?  Let me know what you would like to see created.

Another Missed You Freebie Style -CU

I'm not sure if you are all aware but my oldest daughter Tanya moved to Edmonton last fall with her two Rottweiler's, Bonnie & Jersey.  Now although I don't miss the dog hair they created when they visited, I do miss them a lot and her too.  I'm hoping that she will create some layouts for me using some of my kits, or some Quick Pages.  She is really good at that kind of thing.  It may help if I could finish my new kit for her.  I guess this may end up being our way of keeping in touch more often, be more of a team then when she was a little girl and I was Mom and she was still in charge.  LOL, not really but there were days it sure felt like it.

Well my back is feeling better today and with Sean back on shifts as of Monday we were up early. I couldn't fall back to sleep after he left, so I got up got dressed, changed my mind about what I was going to wear, changed again, then one more time... looked for my Twigg's coffee mug, texted Sean-asked him if he had it. (He had one of them at work) Took the dog for a walk to Twiggs our local coffee shop, got there and my bank card was rejected but since Alexandra works there they let me take my coffee. Walked back home, finished getting ready for work, left a chore list for the kids, asked TC if he isn't working this weekend if he is interested in helping my brother's Marcel and Emmanuel build a deck at the cottage for my Dad, went back to Twiggs to pay for my coffee, stopped at the drug store for their generic brand of Robaxacet, arrived at work and relaxed.

Whew...!

Today's download is my final part of the Cozy at Home kit I did for IvyScraps Collab last year. I am not sure what I will post tomorrow night however on Friday evening I will be uploading a Desktop, Quick Page, Calender created with a new kit I hope to upload to the store sometime this weekend. Here is a preview of the one I am using on my computer. I used pictures of Bullet our dog and Sean from last year's weekend at the cottage.


This preview doesn't give you much of a hint as to the theme of my new kit but what do you think of the QP? I'll post another hint/preview with Friday's post In the meantime, please enjoy tonight's element freebie.

Freebie-Part 2 Papers

Our house is finally quiet as of yesterday afternoon. Last Thursday we invited Rich & Liz our scuba instructor and his wife over for dinner. Because she works here in town and they live about 35 minutes away, we suggested that Rich grab his two dogs when he went home to change as they had been home all day. So here we are BBQing with three full sized dogs when surprise, surprise in comes Tanya and her boyfriend Matt with their two Rottweilers. FIVE very big dogs in the house now 6 adults, 3 teens, a ferret which looked like dinner to one of the dogs, a bird that had another dog very interested in a snack, two sugar gliders who were thankfully sleeping and unseen-all on the hottest day of the year so being outside was not appealing to any of the dogs. Tanya and Matt went home yesterday with their dogs although we will get the girls back in August for one last time before she moves out to BC. I'm going to miss those fur balls though.

Another Freebie-Part 1-Papers

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I did dispite the fact I hurt my back as I was getting my scuba gear ready to go diving. (Yes, I was a the lake already and so was everyone else). Needless to say diving ended up being a no go for me and Sean backed out since I couldn't go even though I told him to go, I'd just lay on the blanket till the dive was over. I still managed to have a great time Saturday afternoon at my girlfriend Sarah's place. She lives right on the beach here in town and she organized a girls afternoon at her house with two teenagers my daughter Alexandra's age, a little girl from our congregation that is so enthralled with Alexandra, her mom and one other lady. We had so much fun. Sarah and Adam went to a lot of trouble planning a "Pirate Treasure Hunt". They even tea stained paper and burnt the edges to age it. The clues were so much fun and one clue led to their basement but access to it was only from outside the house. To enter you had to pull up this metal door, go down a ladder and enter this windowless, dark cement room (more like a dungeon if you asked me). But Adam had put old wood up against one wall to make it look like the inside of a ship below the waterline, and an old table and lit some candles on it... which is were the clue was hidden.

Our treasure.... plastic tiara's, candy rings, candy necklaces, chocolate money, nail polish, the girls got beach bags, we ladies were given evening bags and little Charliegh got a beach wrap. Sarah told us she went to Value Village for our evening bags, we couldn't believe it as they seemed brand new. Adam was the perfect gentleman, he BBQ'd for us and I was able to spend the afternoon sitting in a chair in the water relaxing and soaking up the sun and enjoying the company of some of the nicest ladies I know.

The three teens didn't really know each other well before our get together but they sure behaved like the best of friends by the end of the day. They suggested we have another get together soon-which was nice to hear.

So my freebie today is another set I did for last years IvyScraps Collab. The theme was "Cozy at Home" so I created some furniture and created a few papers. I hope you enjoy this kit. Element Freebie

So my Saturday meeting my daughter's boyfriend went well. I think Tanya was more nervous than either Sean or I was and I think she was worried we would embarass her by recounting some story or something about her or asking him questions like what are his intentions...lol. Sean and I both thought he is a nice guy. We were able to enjoy a nice dinner together before they headed back to Sudbury with the two dogs. I hope he can handle them this week in her small apartment as they are both very active and one of them acts more like a lap dog than a rottweiler. I wish him luck this week with them.
