Halloween Word Art Freebie

Its going to be a short blog tonight as I'm tired and we only have a few days left together before Sean leaves for Alberta. I'm going to miss him terribly when he is gone, so I need to take advantage of our time together now.

Let me know what you think?

Monday Freebie - Halloween Characters

Oh the Blah of going to work on a Monday! At least I was able to have lunch with Sean as this is our last week together before he goes away for a month. Our big thrill for the night was watching the first episode of "The Unit" that we missed. How romantic for our last week together. At least he brought cheesecake to munch on while we watch our show.

Okay, so part of tonight's freebie comes from two templates created by "The Scrappin Cop." The Witch in the center and the Spider on the right were created using her templates. If you search her site, you will also find a Bat and Frankenstien type monster available for download.

LOTS of Paper Freebie

I think I might just fall asleep right this minute. I'm exhausted today. Sean worked nights last night and in my infinate wisdom I decided since I have trouble sleeping when he is away I'd just stay up. I lasted until 4am browsing other scrabooking blogs, downloading a few things and playing with my baby girls. (2 sugar gliders)

I woke up around 9:30 and just had to get up. Sean was fast asleep as his shift had only ended at 5:30am, and I didn't want to wake him with my tossing and turning so I got up, made coffee and worked on tonights posting. When Sean got up we took the Alexandra and her friend that had slept over out Geocaching. It turned out to be a 4KM walk but deffinately worth it as it was a cool fall day and someplace I had not been to since I was a child with my Grandpa MacKay. For those of you that live near here we went down Cranberry Road out to the marsh and lookout. Yes the cranberries are plentiful although I did not pick any this time.

The rest of the afternoon was spent doing little things, going to the pet store, getting a few groceries and going to Home Depot and buying a dehumidifier.

Okay, so tonights freeibies are papers available in two downloads.

Kayaking , Geocaching and a Freebie

It was another busy day today. I was up until around 2am last night doing some reading and trying to decide what kind of word art or alphabet I'm going to offer as part of the Halloween Kit I have been creating here. Just so you know, I still have no idea.

I was up this morning around 9:30am, and just couldn't stay in bed any longer so I came downstairs and made coffee and played online, read e-mails, visited other sites and tried to create a new blog header... (how do you like it) I used Rose.li's action to create the photo/ribbon portion.
Then at 12:30 I took my daughter Alexandra to her Hip Hop dance class. I sat there with my laptop at the school trying to package up tonight's freebie and make it look nice. You can thank Sandra Adamson of SeaScraps and her Ribbon Wrap Action. It took me a few tries but I finally figured it out.

When I got home Sean was up and had borrowed a Kayak from the base, a two seater and out we went on Lake Nipissing in search of a Geocache on a small island. Our efforts were rewarded as we took away with us a Tim Horton's Coffee card and therefore stoped at Timmy's on our way home. For those of you that are not Canadian... Tim Hortons is a coffee shop-more popular I believe than Starbucks for most Canadians.

So we get home... and we put the Kayak in the back yard since it looked ridiculous on our small Toyota Yaris. Sean was tidying up the front entrance and finds a delivery package behind a plastic bin I had outside at the front door. It was an 8x10 sized plastic envelope and it said on the shipping label... SIGNATURE REQUIRED. I realized right then that it was the iPod Touch my son Marc had ordered for his sister. (How is that for brotherly love?) I have no idea of how long it sat there but just happy we found it. So much for the required signature.

So here I am tonight, Alex is downstairs in the rec room with a friend having a sleep over, Marc my son is at work, JF the college student who lives with us during the school year (friend of the family) is doing homework downstairs, Sean is at work and I'm here with you guys.

So here is tonight's freebie.. Ribbons...
Not all are shown, there are 3 labeled ribbons, and 3 labeled folded and 7 different coloured RicRac Ribbons

Free Halloween Buttons

I'd like to say thank you to everyone that has been visiting my site and downloading the freebies. I've had more than 600 downloads of my creations and more than 900 visitors since I started. I'm loving it and looking forward to more.

Tonight's freebie is buttons...lots and lots of buttons. Now I must warn you some buttons are a little larger than the average button you find on here but with these being Halloween related, I thought it might be nice to have the extra size to play with when your creating pages.

This preview only shows you a few of them but there are seven different buttons in seven different colours for a total of 49 buttons in all.

Frames Freebie

It was another long day as I was up late last night getting my post and freebie online and then Sean's alarm went off sometime around 4:30AM and woke me up. I did manage to fall back asleep but its not the same after you have been awakened. I shouldn't complain as I know come October I am going to miss that morning kiss as he gets up and leaves for work. If I haven't mentioned it before Sean is a Military Police Officer. He works 12 hour shifts, for 4 or 5 days in a row. They are usually 2 or 3 days with 2 or 3 nights. Anyway, he is going to Wainright, Alberta for a month and from what we know so far... he won't have internet either. :(
Our usual means of communication while he is away due to work is our laptops and web cams, that way the kids and I can see him and chat for awhile. Makes it a bit easier on all of us when we can see each other and know things are okay.
I'm hoping during this time get a few kits together, make LOTS of freebies, and possible start thinking about finding a store for my items. Maybe closer to the end of the month maybe even look for a few people that will create layouts using some of my creations.
So, I promised you frames, and here they are. I hope you enjoy them and find them useful.

Another Halloween Freebie

I hope everyone is enjoying my freebies. I have been having fun creating different things. Tonight's freebie are brads, I'm not sure but I think tomorrow night might be picture frames... I have not decided yet.

I'm looking for suggestions as to what kind of kits to create for everyone. What you would like to see as freebies. I have had a few requests so I'll be working on those this weekend but I'm looking for more requests, so if you have one, I'd like to see what I can do to create that item or paper for you.

Without further ado... here is tonight's freebie

Aniversary & A Freebie

Today is the anniversary of Sean's and My First Date. We met four years ago when my daughter Alexandra informed me she wanted to spend a night in a hotel because she had never stayed in one that she could remember. So her and I packed it up and thanks to a girlfriend of mine who worked at a hotel, we got a room at a Travelodge.

There was a pool there and on Sunday morning Alex went swimming and lo and behold, there was this really cute guy but he was with a couple of kids. (Married I thought) However in talking to him he made a point of commenting on how he was taking the kids home to his ex wife. I thought about giving him my phone number as I had discovered he was going to be in town all week but did not really want to do that in front of my daughter or his kids. As we were leaving the pool area, Alex took his room key card thinking it was ours. This started another conversation as we headed up the stairs to the second floor... turns out his room was right next to ours.

As I was packing up our belongings, I kept thinking of Sean and how great he had been at the pool with the kids. I considered calling him but decided that I would leave a note at the front desk for when he returned from dropping his kids off.

I did not hear from Sean until Thursday. At this point I had almost forgotten about him...(almost). I guess all week his phone was flashing this red light indicating messages waiting, and he kept checking it only to discover there were no messages, until Thursday he decided to call the front desk to find out why his phone was flashing. He called, was told he must have phone messages to which he told the lady at the front desk he had already checked and there were no messages and hung up. A few seconds later she called Sean and told him there was a letter at the front desk for him.

He called, we had a great first date... and here we are four years latter looking forward to at least another 30.

Okay, so on to the freebie so I can get back to my aniversary.

Very LONG weekend and a Freebie!

The Five and a half hour drive to Trenton was deffinately worth it as Gaetan's and Cathy's Wedding was absolutely beautiful. My brother Gaetan was handsom and Cathy... well stunning would be an understatement. The ceremony was held at St. Peters, the same church her Mother and Father were married at and the same church she was Baptised, had First Communion and Confirmed in. I'm very proud to have her as my new sister-in-law as the strawberry jam she had for each guest (which she made from scratch) was delicious. They are an amazing couple together and she, an amazing woman...I have to tell you she jumped out of an airplane for my brother... they have gone skydiving, zip-lining, white water rafting and bungy jumping together. I wish them the best of luck as they begin a new adventure together.

My freebie tonight comes from overlays created by Josy Carson. The following is a preview of the papers I created. I hope you enjoy them.

The papers are jpeg's, 12x12", at 300dpi in a ziped file

Its been a long day... and of course a Freebie

Oh, its been a long, long day. I'm now at CFB Trenton (started off in North Bay) because my brother is getting married tomorrow. We left at 2:30 and got here at 7:30 and picked up my son Robert along the way as he lives with my ex-husband. I tried to do a few things on my laptop in the car to offer as freebies this weekend however it was a little difficult to do. I did manage to create these before I left and am offering them to you tonight as a freebie.

Another Freebie, DSO Colour Challenge Elements

Okay, so I was a little excited creating the papers that I posted yesterday and wanted to make a few elements that matched the paper. I will let you judge how I did.
One of my comments yesterday was by Phoenix Eldr that she liked my black and white paper. I'd like to say Thank you to her and let everyone know that the black and white paper she is referring to is actually the overlay and you can create any colour of paper with that overlay. I hope that everyone that downloads the papers enjoys them.

Now, Phoenix Elder was the first person to comment on my blog and I thought I should check hers out too. You can find her web page here. She has been trying her hand at bookbinding and she has a couple cats. One is a kitten named Razzamaspaz and she has a cute picture on her site of Razz. I thought as a thank you to commemorate my first comment I'd create something just for her. This is what I decided to do with the picture of Razzamaspaz. When she E-mails me, I'll send her the 4shared link and she can download the png file and use it in her scrapbooking pages if she likes.

Now, as for today's freebie I'm sure you are all anxious to see what I created. I'm anxious to hear what your comments, and find out what you would like to see offered here as freebies. Leave a comment, who knows when or what I will decide to do next, or whom I'll give away a personalized freebie to next.

DSO Colour Challenge Freebie

I decided last night while watching Dexter with Sean that I'd try to make some papers for the colour challenge that Digital Scrap Obsession had this month. It was a trial I think for Sean who had been anxiously awaiting the new season and here we were enjoying a quiet evening curled up in bed with the laptop, speakers hooked up watching our show.

I'm positive I asked him at least once every couple of minutes what do you think of this colour combination? Does it look better like this or like that? Considering he works 12 hour shifts and they start at 5:30AM he was very patient and helpful. I must tell you though that he fell asleep right after Dexter... (that would have been 9pm I'm sure)

Anyway... here is the preview of the papers I created. What do you think?

Papers are 12x12, 300 dpi, jpg with the exception of the overlay which is in png format.

You can download them here

Part 2 of Yesterdays Freebie

I'm enjoying playing with Photoshop. I have part 2 of the alphabet I started yesterday. I'm uploading this file early today as Sean & I have plans after dinner to meet up at Twiggs (a local coffee shop similar to Starbucks) for coffee and cheesecake with his new boss and his wife.

Before the freebie though, I thought I'd share a layout I started for Sean & I. The picture was taken on Flowerpot Island in Tobermory during our trip there this summer. I'm looking for suggestions as to what to do with the text. Right now it is a little plain.... what do you think?

Now as for the freebie...here is part 2 of yesterdays alphabet. I hope to do a complete kit with this colour incorporated. I'm open to suggestions as to what you might like to see as part of this free kit.

These files are 300dpi, on one sheet and individual png's

Teething and a FREEBIE !!!!

Its been quite a week. I was hoping to get another freebie up before now but my daughter Alexandra was sick and we were not sure what was wrong and we were back and forth from the Dr's and clinics hoping to figure out what was going on. Turns out today our dentist tells us she is teething...lol. Yes at 13 she got her back molars and was having problems and her gums became infected as the new teeth grew in.

So, as I'm still very new to digital scrapbooking, I'm working on figuring out how to do things with the program. Today's freebie is an alphabet I've created using photoshop and stitching. I hope you enjoy it. Please leave comments if you download and I'm open to suggestions and requests as I'm having fun trying to learn to do various things in photoshop.

The letters are in individual png files, 300 dpi

First Post & A FREEBIE!!

Well, I'm completely new to digital scrapbooking. I'm currently interested in trying to figure out how Adobe Photoshop works and what I can create with it a little more than creating layouts at the moment. If you have any suggestions as to what you would like to see as a freebie, I'll take that challenge up and try to figure it out for you.

Some of my favorite Digital Scrapbooking web pages are;

Digi Treats - Another Great Canadian Lady who has a wonderful set of ABC Kits. RUN, SKIP and JUMP. Every day or two she has a freebie as part of one of these three kits.

Strictly Reveal - Where you can discover what is hidden in those grab bags you see in some of the popular Scrapbook Shops. Freebies with every post too.
Gotta Pixel - Great site, store and forum. Yes they have freebies too.

Moo Two Designs - A great site and store. Freebies Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

Digidesign Resort - Excellent forum and designer resources. Yes, I have subscribed, I saw what was revealed in the August Grab bag the second of September and just didn't want to miss out on what might be in Septembers bag.

last but not least

IkeaGoddess - My favorite and in my opinion the ultimate site for freebies.

Now a freebie of my own..... a few diamond style elements. Please let me know what you think and feel free to e-mail me any of your layouts using these.
